TOPEKA-Arlene Nellie Nott, 87, formerly of Jackson County, KS, passed away April 16, 2009 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, KS. She was born April 21, 1921 in Burlingame, KS the daughter of Roy and Nellie Cappen Bickford. She graduated from Soldier High School in 1939 and was a lifelong resident of the Jackson County communities as a homemaker. She was a member of the Seaman Congregational Church and a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Topeka. On August 27, 1939 she married Paul Devere Nott in Seneca, KS. He passed away November 4, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a son Leslie Nott in 1943. Survivors include 3 sons, Gary Nott and Donald Nott both of Topeka, KS, Gregory Nott of Wichita, KS; 6 daughters, Lavona Yates of Gainesville, GA, Shirley Pool of Holton, KS, Linda Smith of Wichita, KS, Carol Tipton and Patricia Nott both of Topeka, KS, Beverley Brucken of Soldier, KS; 4 brothers, Kenneth Bickford and Leo Bickford both of Holton, KS, Clifford Bickford of Maple Hill, KS, Leland Bickford of Pahrump, NV; 2 sisters, Betty Mayo of Filer, ID and Janice Stewart of Topeka, KS; 26 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Olive Hill Cemetery.
