"BROMLEY, Joshua, m. Anna, da. of Joseph Thayer, and settled in the north part of town. The farm is now owned by Edwin Staples. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, having served at the age of 15, and drew a pension. He was also a Captain in the local militia. He acquired by his own efforts a handsome property, and was a man of influence. He died in 1825, aged 63; his wife in 1852, aged 83. They raised a family of five sons and four daughters."
