William Bromley was born in Preston, CT March 4, 1766; died Castleton, VT March 1848, married Robah Smith. He settled with his father in Danby in 1777, moved to Clarendon about 1800 and thence to Castleton, where he purchased land Nov 10, 1836, upon which he lived until his death. He served nine months as a private in the War of the Revolution, enlisting in Danby Apr 1781. He had two other daughters not listed; Maria who married Mr. Gould and Sabrina who married Peleg Eddy.
