Perry Lorentz Edin was born February 20, 1908 to Andrew Peter and Emma (Lund) Edin in Sandstone, MN. He went to school in Sandstone and graduated from Sandstone high School. After working on the family farm, he moved to Hinckley to work for his brother Ted in his Ford garage. While in Hinckley, he met Lillian Olson, and they were married in Moose Lake on August 26, 1939.

Perry bought the Ford dealership from his brothers Edwin and Ted in 1943 and continued to operate it for a number of years. he and Lillian had three children, Nancy, Larry and mary Jane. During the years they were growing up, he was actively involved in his community, just as his father had been before him. Over that period he was active in the Pine County Republican Party, served on the Hinckley Village Council, and was a member of the Masons, Eastern Star, and the First Lutheran Church Board.

Perry was survived by his wife Lillian Edin and three children: Nancy (Dale) Leathers of Los Angeles, CA, Larry of Hinckley, and Mary Jane of Minneapolis, MN. Brothers: Edwin of Pine City and Emmett of Hudson WI and sister Olive (Elof) Friesendahl of Sandstone, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Ted.
