Born in Nelson County on July 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lewis Adams and the late Nellie Stevens Adams. She was a member of Mead. Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Evers is survived by two sons, Harvey Lee Evers and, his wife, Janet, of Altavista, and Charles Edward Evers and his wife, Dottie, of Concord; two daughters, Joyce Riley and her husband, Richard, of Greenville, S.C., and Maria Walker and her husband, Darryl, of Lynchburg; nine grandchildren; Kelly Riley, Kim Riley, Heather King, Stuart Evers, Darryl . Walker Jr., Brandon Walker, Curtis Evers, Savannah Arthur and Eric Tharpe; two brothers, Willie Adams of Amherst and John Lewis Adams of Glasgow; two sisters, Mary Murray of Monroe and Annie Lunsford of Roseland; many precious nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend, Inez Jennings.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Laura Lunsford, Nellie Campbell; Polland Adams, Robert Adams; Vassar Keatt, Manard Adams and Percy Adams.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.rn. at Tharp Funeral Home.
A celebration of her life will be conducted Tuesday, Sept., 30, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Mead Memorial United Methodist Church. Interment in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
