James G. NICKELL, 58, died at 2 a.m. today (October 25, 1950) at his home, 322 Ohio street, this city. He had been ill since last January. Mr. Nickell had been a resident of Rochester for more than 30 years, coming here from Peoria, Ill., and had many friends in Rochester and vicinity.
He was born April 23, 1892, at Eazel [Ezel], Ky., the son of Richard and Mary NICKELL. He was first married to Nancy WILLIAMS, of Winchester, Ky., and his second marriage was to Mrs. Carrie BROOKS, of Rochester.
Survivors include the wife, at home; four children by his first marriage, Eugene [NICKELL], Eagle River, Wis.; Harlan [NICKELL], Hobart; Mrs. Mary BUNNELL and Miss Wilma NICKELL, both of Eagle River, Wis.; a stepson, Lawrence JACKSON, of Hammond; three brothers, Earl and Warren NICKELL of Rochester and Ova NICKELL of Michigan City. Funeral services in charge of the Rev. Grant BLACKWOOD of the Christian church will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Rochester IOOF cemetery.
