DAKOTA CITY ---- Marjorie G. Boyd Matney, 87, of rural Dakota City died Tuesday, June 18th, 1991, at a South Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City with the Rev. Leonard Lee, pastor of South Sioux First Southern Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Walthill, Neb. Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Matney was born May 10th, 1904 in Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of Charles & Lotty (Kearnes) Tipton. She married Flay Boyd in 1918. The couple farmed for several years in Thurston County. He died in 1977. She married Guy Matney and he preceded her in death. She was a lifelong resident of Thurston and Dakota Counties.
Survivors include a son, Merrill Boyd of rural Dakota City; a daughter, Lyla Moore of Omaha; two sisters, Dora Matson of South Sioux City and
Eva Howard of Ogden, Utah; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Flay Boyd, JR.; two brothers Leslie and Orville and a sister Velma Bahr.
