COLORADO CITY ~~ Mrs. Loyd Phelan, 84, former Robert Lee resident of Colorado City died at 7:15 p.m. Friday in Root Memorial Hospital in Colorado City after an extended illness. Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Westbrook First Baptist Church.
Officiating will be the Rev. Glenn Roenfeldt, pastor of the Colorado City First Baptist Church, Brother Raymond Mayfield, pastor of the Colorado City Assembly of God Church, and the Rev. Ray Johnson, pastor of the Westbrook First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Westbrook Cemetery under direction of Kiker-Rains-Seale Funeral Home of Colorado City.
Born February 17, 1888 in Bell County, she married J. W. Elliott in 1905. He died in September 1946.
She later married Loyd Phelan in Colorado City January 6, 1961. Mrs. Phelan had lived in Robert Lee pryor to moving to Colorado City in 1964.
She was a member of the Colorado City First Baptist Church.
Survuvors are her husband Loyd; four daughters, Mrs. Bill Justice and Mrs. Parker Jarman of Colorado City, Mrs. Elnora Phillips of Coahoma and Mrs. Leslie Bassinger of Eldorado; two sons, Wesley Elliott of Colorado City and Darrell Elliott of Snyder; a sister, Mrs. M.P. Dorn of Colorado City; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
