He was born January 9, 1950 in Front Royal, Virginia and was the son of the late Wilbert Johnson Hartman, Sr. and Mary Katherine Stardoun Hartman.
Mr. Hartman was a self employed drywall finisher and a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hartman of Culpeper; his daughter, Carrie Ann Hartman of Winchester; his son, Wilbert "Jay" Hartman III of Culpeper; three sisters, Judy VanDevander of Fisher, West Virginia, Evelyn Zaun and Betty Harper both of Morrefield, West Virginia; three brothers, Lee Hartman, Richard Hartman and Kenny Hartman all of Culpeper and a granddaughter, Alexis Hartman.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2009 at Preddy Funeral Home in Madison with interment in Culpeper National Cemetery, New Section. The Rev. John Burke will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday, one hour before the service at the funeral home.
