A Member of the Moorefield Church of God, Evelyn was known for cooking at many locations after she left the Warren County Schools including ONeils in Moorefield. A passionate gardener, she loved to raise flowers, plants and vegetables, again using them in her cooking. She enjoyed word searches, her annual beach trip, bird watching and penguins of which she collected anything penguin. Her family was her everything.
Surviving is her ex-husband, Charles F. Zaun of Front Royal, VA; a son, Douglas & Teresa Embrey, Jr. of Front Royal, VA; three daughters, Juanita & Artie Mitchell of Front Royal, VA, Lenora & David Stoner of Monroe, NC and Jean Marie Magee & Joey Robinson of Charlottesville, VA; three brothers, Lee Hartman of Culpepper, VA, Kenneth Hartman of Moorefield, WV and Richard Ray Hartman of Orange, VA; a sister, Judy Hartman of Fort Seybert, WV and five grandchildren, Amber, Andrea, Tyler, Kendra and Casey along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Washington Street with Pastor Daryl Dunsmore officiant. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of services.
