Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, December 20, at Brashears
Funeral Chapel for Sheridan William Johnson, 79, of Wesley. Mr. Johnson died
December 17 in the Huntsville Memorial Hospital. He wsa born January 22, 1898,
at Wesley, the son of William Fredrick and Nancy Elizabeth Culwell Johnson. He
was a retired rural mail carrier, a Baptist minister for 50 years, and a member
of the Masonic Lodge.

Rev. George West and Rev. Claude Counts officiated. Burial was in Col. Johnson
Cemetery under the direction of Brashears.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virgie Duncan Johnson of the home; four
brothers, Paul Johnson of Anaheim, Calif., Virgil Johnson of Fayetteville,
Millard Johnson of Hindsville, and Fredrick Johnson of Jacksonville, Ark.; three
sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Essary of Fullerton, Calif., Mrs. Clara Sharp of
Bellflower, Calif., and Mrs. Mary Barrett of Buena Park, Calif.

Pallbearers were Loy Watson, Everett Boyd, Charlie Watkins, Lloyd Sanders,
Norman Davis and Earl Duncan.
