Sallie was born to Henry Jacoby and Sarah Kern in Macungie, PA in 1806, one of 15 children and an extended family of relatives. Both of her parents were from a large community of german lutheran farmers who moved from PA out to Butler County, OH circa 1817.

Sallie's parents settled in Wayne, Butler County, OH, which was just west of Millville, where her husband to be Daniel grew up. It is quite possible that Daniel Sr and the Jacoby's knew (or knew of) each other from PA, since the Kerns were from Heidelberg, PA where Daniel Sr was born, and there were Jacobi's attending the same church as Daniels Kuntz uncle's in Lynn Township.

Sallie married Daniel in 1827, and they had 13 children, 4 of whom died young. Sallie and Daniel first lived near Millville on Daniel Srs farm, but in 1830 Daniel Jr bought a plot of farm land north of Millville near McGonigle. In later years he added a blacksmith and "everything" store, which was very prosperous.

Sallie died in 1855 at the age of 48. It's quite possible that she might have died from any of the rampant diseases which blew through the area during the 1850s, such as cholera, or after 13 children and a hard life she could have just been worn out. I believe her death hit the family quite hard, as soon after (or just prior to her death) Daniel sold the farm and moved into Hamilton, where he went into the hardware business.

Sallie was buried in Zieglers Cemetery in Millville in 1855, however in 1867 her remains were removed to Greenwood Cemetery by Aaron Trine, husband of her daughter Sarah Rumple Trine. She is noted by a marker which lists her, along with her husband Daniel and many of her children who died at a young age.
