She was bon October 5, 1903, in Downsville to Alfred and Jennie Lorshbough Bailey. She married Art Backen in 1925. They farmed in the Downsville area and raised three children. He preceded her in death in 1949.
In 1963 she married Louis Bolles. He preceded her in death in 1966. She was a Gold Star World War II mother.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice (John) Slotevig, Knapp; a sister-in-law, Myrtle (Alvin) Bailey, Hudson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, three brothers and one sister.
Services were Sunday, November 15 at the Goodrich0Sampson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Grace Swensen officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery in Downsville.
