Memorial services were held March 1 for Roy B. Davenport, 929 East 68th Street, Inglewood, who died February 27 after a brief illness. A longtime resident, Roy came to Inglewood in 1922. He was born in 1892 in Winfield, Kansas. A druggist, he operated the Davenport Pharmacy of Gardena until his retirement in 1964.
The Davenport home was one of the first houses to be constructed in North Inglewood. The Davenports' son Harvey, received a baby buggy from Los Angeles Investment Company as he was the first boy born in that tract. he now lives in Middletown, NJ. Other survivors are his widow, Neta; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Marcum, Selma, and Mrs. Margaret Sprecher, Burbank; and nine grandchildren.
The Inglewood Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Internment was in Floral Memorial Park, Selma.
