Mr. R. L. Blount died at his home near the city yesterday after a lingering illness of several weeks. He was buried this morning at 8:30 in the city cemetery. He was a member of the Light Infantry, and the members of their comrade. An escort joined with other friends in bringing his remains to the cemetery, and there, was met by the company under the command of Capt. Perry. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Anthony. There was a large attendance, as Mr. Blount had many friends and relatives who will mourn his untimely taking away.
