Services for Easter Holland of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, in the chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors of McMinnville. The Rev. Jim Peterson will officiate. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.

Mrs. Holland died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Osprey Court in McMinnville. She was 94.

She was born April 12, 1914, in Silver Bow, Mont., the daughter of Joseph and Ellen (Schevenius) Pedranti. In 1927, she and her family moved to Kalama, Wash. She was the youngest child in a large family.

She received her education in Sheridan, leaving school in her early teens to help on the family farm. Her father raised sheep. She and her sister, Rema, would herd the sheep from Sheridan to the fields near Perrydale.

On Oct. 22, 1932, she married R. Nolan McKee in Sheridan. She drove a bread truck for her stepfather at the Sheridan Bakery.

The couple's home was in Perrydale where they farmed and raised turkeys. They had one child, Bill, who continued on the family farm where Easter had lived for 72 years.

After her husband's death in 1989, she married Mel Holland on Sept. 27, 1991, and continued living in her country home. When her second husband died in 2001, she moved to Deer Meadow Assisted Living in Sheridan where she stayed for four years before moving to Osprey Point earlier this year.

She was a Red Cross volunteer for many years, enjoyed dancing, playing cards and visiting. Her family said they are indebted to her niece, Doris Jean Suhs, for her constant companionship the last four years.

Survivors include her son Bill McKee of Rickreall; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Legacy Hospice, care of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, 135 N.E. Evans St., McMinnville, OR 97128. To leave online condolences, visit www.macyandson.com.
