Dies On Sunday
Mrs. Mary A. Adams, 78, widow of Francis M. Adams, expired at the home of her son, George L. Adams, two miles southeast of Mays in Center Township, at 1:55 Sunday afternoon. She had been in failing health over six years and seriously ill the past six to eight weeks.
Mrs. Adams was born in Estill County, Kentucky April 24, 1860, the daughter of Louis and Emily White Winkler. She married Francis M. Adams on Sept. 15,1880 in Johnson County, Indiana. Her husband pre-ceded her in death 27 years ago. She was a member of the old United Presbyterian Church of Mays.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ivy Jane Huffman of Indianapolis; two sons, George L. of Center township and Charles M. also of Rush County; one sister, Mrs. Sarah Oglesby of Kentucky; four brothers, Joe and Oda Winkler of Rush County and Arch and Gilford Winkler of Franklin.
Last rites will be conducted at the Center Christian Church on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with Dr. A.M. Jamieson of Rushville officiating. Burial will take place in the Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the late residence anytime to the hour of the services.
