Joseph Franklin Winkler, 91, retired farmer, died Thursday morning at 2:40 o'clock at the Rush Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for two weeks after suffering a heat stroke.
A native of Estill County, Kentucky, the deceased was a son of Lewis Davis and Emily White Winkler, and was born July 25, 1863. He was a member of Center Christian Church. Mr. Winkler came to Rush County about 55 years ago.
Survivors include a brother, Oda Winkler of this city; and several nieces and nephews. He made his home the past few years with the George Adams family in Center Township.
Funeral services will be held at the Wyatt - Moore Mortuary Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Myron Taylor in charge. Interment will be made in the Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary beginning Friday noon.
