Hiram Davis, aged 29, and Minnie McClure, 19, the former of Sand Ridge and the latter of Kinkaid Township, were licensed to marry by County Clerk Bower Saturday.

Minnie K. Davis died at age 79 on Friday, November 8, 1968, at Centreville Township Hospital in Centreville.

She was born in Ava on March 30, 1889, the daughter of William [George] and Elizabeth Jarrett McClure.

She is survived by four sons, Albert J. Davis of Cambria, Louis Davis of Waterloo, Hiram Davis of East Carondelet and Donald Davis of Lockport; four daughters, Mrs. Armin Scholes of Red Bud, Mrs. Nora Bryan of Mattoon, Mrs. Oliver Stroh of Columbia and Mrs. Don Elliott of Mattoon; two brothers, Jackson McClure of Murphysboro and Albert McClure of Ava; 30 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

Her husband, Hiram Davis, preceded her in death.
