Albert McClure of Ava died at age 91 on Saturday, June 21, 1980, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Marion.

He was born in Ava on November 15, 1888, the son of George and Elizabeth Jarrett McClure.

He married Lena Crisler in Murphysboro on April 19, 1921.

Survivors include three sons, William and Vernon, both of Ava, and Ervin of Cahokia; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

His wife, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Albert was a retired farmer and a Veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
