JACOB ALBERT BARTON
Jacob Isaac Newton Barton was a man who stamped the impress of his strong individuality upon the minds of the people of Kenmore, Ohio, in a manner as to render him one of the conspicuous characters of the locality. His faithfulness to duty and a strict adherence to a fixed purpose (which always does more to advance a man's interests than wealth or advantageous circumstances) were the dominating factors in his life, which was replete with honor and success worthily attained. He was known to be a man of strictly honest business principles, industrious, pleasant and agreeable.

Jacob was the second born son of Isaac Newton Barton, who proudly recorded the joyous event in his Bible on page two as follows: Family Births - "Jacob Isaac Newton Barton was born 14 November 1891." His death was recorded in the said by his sister Bertha as follows: Page Four, Family Deaths - "Jacob Barton - Saturday 1:15 a.m., 21 April 1945, age 54."

Jacob met and married the sixteen year-old maiden Ninna Grace Nace, the daughter of Allen Nace and Martha Stultz of Henry County, Ohio on the 17th day of May 1913. Jacob and Ninna's marriage certificate was recorded in the Licking County Probate Court Marriage Records Volume XIII (1913-15), p42. The couple was blessed by the birth of one child, Charles before obtaining a divorce. It appears as if Jacob raised this son to maturity as he was listed as age sixteen, residing with his father on the 1930 census report.

He was a Kenmore garage mechanic, later becoming a Kenmore bus driver and a member of the Stow Volunteer Fire Department. He died at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Summit County, Ohio and his death notice depicts that his funeral service was held at the Stow Church of Christ with Prentice Funeral Home of Kenmore in charge of the arrangements.

His death was recorded at the Ohio Bureau of Vital Statistics as Jacob Albert Barton, aged 54 years 5 months 7 days, a white, divorced male, died 21 Apr 1945 at 1:15 a.m. at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Summit County, Ohio.
