OBITUARY Iron River Reporter March 17 1955 “Bob Johnson, Dairy Leader, Is Dead At 61”
Robert Johnson, 61, retired Ice lake dairy farmer and former member of the Iron county fair board and agricultural commission, died yesterday afternoon at 1 o’clock at his home following an illness of six years.
He was born in Iron River August 10, 1893, the son of Mr. and Mrs. August Johnson. With his brother John he operated the Cloverland Dairy at their Ice lake farm for many years until ill health compelled their retirement.
A single man, he leaves four brothers, John, Andrew and Charles, all of Iron River, and Walter Johnson of Two Rivers, Wis., and five sisters, Mrs. Manuel Krans, Mrs. Arthur Johnson and Mrs. Hilda Erickson, Iron River, Mrs. Edna Miller of Samoset, Fla. and Mrs. Maggie Olson, Hibbing, Minn.
The body is at the Johns chapel where Rev. J. Milton Nelson of First Lutheran church will conduct funeral services Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment will be made in Resthaven cemetery where the family has a lot. Six nephews who will serve as pallbearers are Glen, Lloyd, Harold, Oliver and Earl Johnson and Walter Erickson.
