Frederika was born in Duben, Germany, the daughter of Gottlieb Fritz and Friedrike Voight Prinz. She married Christian Carl Prinz in 1873 and their children were Frederike Anna, Wilhelm and Alvina Pauline (twins), Ida Mahlow, Herman, and a deadborn child. Carl and Frederika were charter members of the Richland St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
