Elba L. Querry, Mapleton Depot, died Saturday, 31 Mar 1973, at 9PM, at the Huntingdon County Nursing Home, where he had been a patient since last February. He was born 25 Jun 1891, Hares Valley, Mapleton Depot, son of Newton and Mary (Chilcote) Querry. He was united in marriage on 30 Jul 1919 to Alverna Mae (Dell) and she preceded him in death in Mar 1969. The deceased in survived by one step-daughter, Mrs. Paul (Hazel) Free, and one son, Zane Querry, both of Mapleton Depot, and one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Jean) Kough, Three Springs. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family being preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the Latta Grove United Methodist Church. He was a member of the AEF in WWI. A coal miner by occupation, he worked a number of years for Crotsley Coal Co. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,
3 Apr, 2PM, at the McClain Funeral Home, Cassville. The Rev Paul R. Rowland will officiate and interment will be made in Bowmans Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot. Friends will be received at the fuenral home ater 6PM, Monday, and until the hour for the services.
