Miles Monroe Querry, of near Calvin, died in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital at 12:30 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon October 24, 1944. Death was due to a fractured skull sustained at work for the Everett Hardwood Lumber Co.

He was born in Hares Valley on February 6, 1879, the son of Israel Newton and Mary Chilcote Querry.

On December 29, 1904, he was united in marriage to Catherine Slagle of Altoona.

Surviving are his widow, and the following sons and daughters: Charles N. Querry, of Huntingdon; Wilbur Querry, of Lemoyne, Ralph Querry and Elsie, (Mrs. Gilbert McClain) both of Huntingdon Star Route; Melvin Querry of Cassville; Catherine (Mrs. Earl Hagg) of Lancaster; and David Querry, of Philadelphia. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and two brothers and three sisters: Elby Querry, Ora Querry, Mrs. W. G. Taylor, and Mrs. Jesse Stever, of Latta Grove; and Mrs. Charles Crotsley of Saltillo.

The funeral service will be held in the Calvin Metodist church on Friday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. John A. Hoover. Interment will be made in the Bowman's Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the McClain Funeral Home after 7 o'clock Wednesday evening until 11 o'clock Friday morning when the body will be taken to the church.
