On last Monday in Mesa City, Arizona, the Grim Reaper of Death took from this sphere of trails, one of Star Valley's earliest and most esteemed pioneers, in the person of Mr. R.R. Dana, Sr.
Death was due to heart failure, and it was only a short time ago that he, accompanied by his wife and son, R.R. Dana, Jr., left their home in Bedford and went to Ogden Utah, where he entered a hospital in hopes of regaining his health. Conditions were such that he was advised by Dr. Rich to regain his health. Conditions were such that he was advised by Dr. Rich to seek a lower altitude, which they immediately did, going to Mesa City, where he remained among relatives and friends until the end.
The deceased was 55 years of age, and spent the early part of life in Bloomington, Idaho, after which he moved to Arizona, later coming to Bedford, where he has resided for the past 25 years.
Mr Dana leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, seven children, (four girls and three boys) and four brothers who reside in Arizona, besides a legion of friends thru-out Star Valley.
The remains are expected to arrive in Montpelier today and will be taken to Bedford, where funeral services will be conducted and Interment take place.
The bereaved family have the heartfelt sympathy of all in these their sad moments.
