Just before going to press we learn of the death of Alma Dana of Bedford. We will try to get more particulars next week.
Alma Dana the oldest son of Mrs Melvina Dana passed away peacefully at the home of his brother Frank, April 23, 1923.
Alma was born in Bennington, Ida December 23, 1886 and came with his parents to Star Valley when 1 1/2 years old and has since that time resided here.
The fall of 1907 he was united in marriage to Linn Roberts to whom were born eight children one having preceded mother and father in death. He buried his wife three years and seven days previous to his death.
Alma has been a very patient suffer for years with leakage of the heart. During his last illness he fought a fight for life that was unsurpassed, his children being uppermost in his mind, he felt he could not leave them. The suffering he endured without a complaint and without once giving up told how he felt he must stay to hold his family together. During the past three years he gave his seven children a mothers and a fathers care as he idolized his children as few fathers do.
Funeral services were held in Thayne April 26 . Chas Wright, John U. Moser Sr., President Gardner, Barrus and Burton all spoke comforting and consoling words to the family.
The large number of friends congregated for funeral services showed the high esteem in which he was held, the church being crowded to its utmost capacity.
The body was laid at rest in Thayne cemetery.
Beside his seven orphaned children he leaves a mother Mrs Melvina Dana, four sisters, Mrs Eliza Wright, Mrs Lucy Nelson, Mrs Geneva Ivie, Mrs Retta Folkman, two brothers Bishop R.,R, Dana and Frank Dana.
