Myrtle Aynes, 81, Brownstown, died Sunday morning, April 7, (1974), at Jackson County Hospital. She had been in failing health for several years.
Born June 5, 1892, at Shoals, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Adeline Hawkins Hovis.
She married Clifton Aynes, Aug 15, 1911, and he died May 15, 1973.
She was a member of the United Brethren Church at Shoals.
Survivors are 3 sons: Floyd Aynes, Ludlow, Ky.; Perry Aynes, Seymour; Clifton Aynes, Brownstown; 3 daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Gladys) Silence, Brownstown; Mrs. Elmer (Virginia) Stidam, Brownstown, Rt. 2; Mrs. Leroy (Mary Alice) Topie, Ceres, Calif.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Helen Hartwig, Cottonwood, AZ; Mrs. Lulie Robertson, Bedford; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. A sister and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 9, from the Spurgeon Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrel Wineinger, pastor of the Brownstown Nazarene Church officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
