Mary Jane Millikin was first married to Levi Zeluff on 20 April 1841 in LaSalle Co., IL. According to his obit., Levi Zeluff died of cholera in St. Joseph, Missouri while on his way to California. Mary secondly married Henry Robinson on 12 December, 1850. She had three children surviving to adulthood and two daughters who died in infancy from the first marriage and four children from the second marriage including a daughter who died in infancy. By 1860 she was living in LaSalle county adjacent to her father's farm along with her 6 surviving children. Henry's whereabouts were unknown. In 1880 she had moved to Grant City, Missouri living alone near where her daughter Alice and sister Jerusha were living. In 1898, on Christmas day, she died at the home of her daughter, Alice Keesler, now back in LaSalle county, Illinois. Her obituary sums up her life as "A life of usefulness and of hardship."
