RICHARD F. HATCHELL JR., 71, died March 30, 1999, in Colorado Springs. He was a construction representative with the Army Corps of Engineers for more than 25 years and served in the Navy.

Mr. Hatchell was born July 25, 1927, in Goldsboro, N.C. He was married Oct. 13, 1961, to Edna M. Frech.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Karl Fisher and Richard F. Hatchell III; two daughters, Tracy G. Bernero and Anne Dulin; three sisters, Edna Livesay, Edith Rogers and Doris Hildebrand; and 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Blunt Mortuary Chapel, 2229 W. Colorado Ave., 634-8831. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Blunt Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, 1000 S. 26th St.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners' Hospital burn unit, Attention: Administration, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX 77550.
