Funeral services were held in the ward chapel Wednesday afternoon of last week for Chris L. Gregerson, who died very suddenly of heart failure Monday morning, after an illness of only 24 hours. the services were presided over by bishop H.J. Kotter. Muscial numbers were a ladies quartet, "Sometime, Somewhere" by Mesdames Jetta Marquardson, May Jensen, Violet Zabriskie and minnie Sylvester; a vocal solo, "Face to Face", by Mrs. Minnie Sylvester; a vocal duet, "I Know That My Redeemer Lives", by Mrs. Minnie Sylvester and Jetta Marquardson, and a vocal solo, "Oh Dry Those Tears", by Violet Zabriskie. The spakers were Patriarch James I. Jensen, Jos L. Staples, Bishop Kotter and C.W. Hawley of Central. All spoke of the sterling qualities of the deceased, of his faithfulness to the gospel, and directed remarks of advice and encouragement was given by Peter Lundgreen of Monroe and the benediction was by Leon Madson. At the cemetery the grave was dedicated by james I. Jensen. The floral offerings were beautiful.
Christian L. Gregerson was born in Denmark in 1874, and came to Utah in 1902. In 1905 he returned to his native land, where he spent more than two years as a missionary for the L.D.S. Church. In 1909 he was married to Miss Christena Nielsen of Richfield, who preceded him to the great beyond six years ago, leaving him with a family of seven children all under thirteen years of age. They are: Ruby, Wallace, Reed, Verda, Verna, Leah and Elva. Since the death of his beloved wife he has worked unceasingly to keep the children together, which he did, except Elva the youngest, who has been with his wife's sister Mrs. Jennie Jacobson of Richfield. Brother Gregerson has been a devoted church worker. Besides spending more than two years in the mission field, he was for eight years Superintendent of our ward Sunday School, and labored as a counselor to Bishop J.L. Staples for eight years. At the time of his death he was a home missionary in the stake. Besided his children he is survived by two brothers, Fredrick and Gregor Gregerson of Idaho, and a brother and sister in Denmark.
