She was born may 17, 1903, in Galena to Foster and Lillie Leeper Rose and died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Share Convalescent Center, Alva.
She attended school at Northwestern State Normal School.
She married Frank English in 1921. They moved to their ranch in 1935 where they lived until his death in 1952. She continued to live and work the ranch and married Leon Crain in 1960. They later moved to Alva.
During World War I she knitted gloves without the index finger for the soldiers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and active in the community.
Surviving are two sisters, Lorene Linder of Waynoka and Ora LaVerne Landers of Salina, Kan.; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both husbands, Frank and Leon, one son, one daughter, one brother, and one sister.
