"The LaFayette Sun" - February 8, 1911:
In Memory of E. E. Haralson.
Edna Elizabeth Haralson (nee Clyett) was born in Augusta, Ga., April 17, 1821, and departed this life December 22, 1910, at Penton, Ala. She was 89 years, 8 months and 5 days old at the time of her death. She was married to Abner Haralson, in Rome, Ga., in the year 1837, on the 6th day of April. She united with the Primitive Baptist Church in 1838 and lived a consistent member until her death. She was the mother of twelve children, seven daughters and five sons. She is survived by seven children: Mr. J. B. Haralson, of Pine Bluff, Ark., Mr. H. A. Haralson, of Penton, Ala., Mr. T. W. Haralson, of Chipley, Ga., Mr. W. F. Haralson, of LaFayette, Ala., and three daughters, Mrs. R. J. Crisler, of Penton, Ala., Mrs. S. E. Smith, of Tallapoosa County, Mrs. L. A. Belcher of Phenix City, Ala.
So at the end she fell asleep as gently as the shadows fall over a peaceful stream at eventide. The memory of her sweet and patient life will abide with those who knew her as a loving benediction. But who can say but that God gave as a recompense, sweetest and closest communion, and that often time her earthly spirit heard the still small voice, and those sightless eyes beheld sweet heavenly visions of that far, fair country, that better place. We bow in humble submission to the Lord’s will and rest assured that our loss is her eternal gain.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home
That never can be filled.
God in his wisdom has recalled.
The boon His love has given,
And though the body slumbers here,
Her soul is safe in Heaven.
- Her granddaughter, Lavada H.

Inscription
Kind angels watch her sleeping dust,
Till Jesus comes to raise the just.
Then may she wake in sweet surprise.
And in her saviour's image rise.
