Richard Acton, aged 84, died at his home near Freetown, Tuesday, January 23, of diseases incidental to old age. He was born in 1816, near Crab Orchard, Ky, and came to this county with his parents in 1830 and settled at Freetown. Deceased married Miss Irene Lorance, to which union 8 children were born: Mrs. Anna McKain, Wilburn, Polly A. McKain, Levi, George, Mrs. Phoebe Cross, Mrs. Cass Reedy. His first wife died years ago, and about 12 years ago he married Tabitha Gobel, who survives him.
