On January 25, 1855, David McKain and Hannah Acton were married by Charly Bruner (either Justice of the Peace or minister) in Jackson County, IN. The license and certificate are recorded in Jackson marriages 1849 - 1856 Volume C.
In the 1860 Federal census, Davis and Hannah McCain were living in Salt Creek, Jackson county, IN, with their children Mary E aged 4 years; Ghilson P aged 2 years; and Lucy Ann aged 4 months; along with John C Lacy, aged 22.

David and Hannah McCain were living in Ohio township, Bartholomew County, IN, in the 1900 Federal census. All of their children were now grown and gone.
In the 1910 Federal census, David and Hannah McCain were living in Ohio township, Bartholomew county, IN. David was 77 and Hannah was 72.
David McCain died on April 19, 1912. Hannah did not long survive him.
OBITUARY: Mrs. Hannah McKain Dead.
Mrs. Hannah McKain, age 77 years, died at her home in Ogleville Thursday night of a complication of diseases. She is survived by two sons and five daughters. The funeral announcements were not completed today. Some of the sons and daughters live away from here and arrangements could not be made until they were heard from.
