MISS AMA WALKER DEAD
Miss Ama Walker, 65, died at the home of her niece, Mrs. W.O. Byrd, Saturday evening at 6 o'clock, following a lingering illness.
Miss Walker, a native of Morgan county, Georgia, had spent the greater part of her life in Madison, Ga. , having come to Enterprise six months ago to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Byrd.
She had been a loyal member of the Baptist church for 40 years. Although a spinster, she was the foster mother of four orphan children. These, with a large concourse of friends and relatives, mourn her passing.
Miss Walker is survived by two nieces, Mrs. W.O. Byrd, of Enterprise, and Mrs. Ben Jackson, of Vidalia, Ga. ; three nephews, Ellet Walker and Edmund and Walker Reid of Madison, Ga.; five brothers, Isaac Walker of Enterprise, L.H., E.L., W.L., and A.R. Walker, of Morgan county, Ga.
Funeral services were held at the home on Monday morning at ten o'clock, with Rev. J.T. Goare officiating, at which time Mrs. L.L. Conner also paid tribute to the deceased. Interment was made at the city cemetery. -- Enterprise, Ala., Journal
