OBITUARY: JOHN A ECKROAT

Rosary for John Albert Eckroat, 85, Midwest City, will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home with Mass at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Cathedral and burial in Arlington Cemetery. He died Tuesday at Mercy Health Center.
Eckroat was a retired farmer and had lived 64 years in the Jones-Spencer area. He came to Oklahoma in 1893. He and his family were among the first settlers of the area and helped in the development of the Eckroat housing addition. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Cathedral.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a daughter, Mrs Dorothy Van Horn, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Dan and Paul, both of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
