Douglass Shavalier
The death occurred in Stamford today of Douglass Shavalier, aged 85 years old, formerly a farmer in Stoney Creek. Mr Shavalier's death occurred at the home of his son, Frank Shavalier, 161 Fredrick Street with whom he had been residing for the past seven years since his retirement.
Mr Shavalier was born in Beamsville, going to Stoney Creek as a young man. His wife preceded him in death four years ago. Surviving are five sons: William of Ridgeville, James, Grimsby, Robert, Stamford, Frank at home, Walter, Toronto.
The funeral will take place from the Morse & Son Funeral Chapel on Sunday, Jan 29, at three thirty p.m.. The interment will be mde at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers are his five sons, and John Lockhart. E H Costigan officiated the service.
