At Sunset Haven Welland, Ont. on Friday Aug 15, 1969 Robert Richard Shavalier, 1703 Buchannan Ave., husband of the late Nellie May Lucas, dear father of Mrs Dorothy Gibson, Mrs Roy Johnson, Mildred Shavalier, Margaret Shavalier, Howard Shavalier all of Niagara Falls, Ont. and Albert Shavalier of London; five gr children and seven gr grandchildren also survive.
Rev Karl English, Minister of Chippawa Presbyterian Church officiating, Acting pallbearers wee Lloyd Evans, George Caswell, Carl Monroe, George Slee, Gordon Sisley, and Claude Morningstar. Members of the Stamford Fire Dept attended in a group.
Robert Richard Shavalier started as a fruit farmer and farmed around Winona, Ont. until the Shavaliers' moved to Niagara Falls about 1920. He was a millwright for the Cyanamid of Canada until the age of 65. He then worked for Victoria Motors as a used car reconditioner until the age of 75.
