A. Blair Piper died Saturday at 7:10 p.m. at the home of his son at Foot-of-Ten, Duncansville.

Mr. Piper retired nine years ago as a state highway employe. he was a past president of the Carson Valley Cemetery Association and served as a school director in Allegheny and Frankstown Twps. He was the oldest member of the Duncansville Lutheran Church.

He was born at Carson Valley June 17, 1869, a son of Silas W. and Anna Mary (Clapper) Piper, and was twice married, first to Annie May Stiffler and later to Rosella M. McCoy.

Surviving are his wife, Rosella, and these children; Mrs. Maude Stewart of Hollidaysburg, Ralph Everett, with whom he resided, Ray M. of Homestead, Blair M. of Duncansville, Mrs. Marie McCall of Hollidaysburg, Mrs. Helen Magill and Mrs. Ruth Magill, both of Duncansville.

The following children from his second marriage also survive; Charles, Mrs. Virginia Chipperfield, Walter, Martha Ann, Boyd, Margaret and Carl, all of Altoona, along with 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Friends are being received at the Liegegott Funeral Home, Duncansville. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Duncansville Lutheran Church in charge of Rev. Edward Harshbarger. Interment in the Carson Valley Cemetery.
