History of Floyd County 1917

Elizabeth Huxsol was a daughter of George & Margaret (Yager) Keller, both natives of Germany, from which country they came to America in 1848, locating in Ohio, where they remained eight years, then spent one year in Indiana, after which they made the overland trip to Iowa with wagon & team, locating in Keokuk County. They located on a farm there, where they remained about eight years, then moved to another part of that county, about six miles from their first location and remained at the latter place for many years. Mr. Keller died in 1874, and his widow died in Nebraska in 1887, having spent her last years with her daughter, Mrs. Louisa Walker. Elizabeth Keller came to Floyd County alone in 1875. She married August Huxsol in 1876.

To August & Elizabeth twelve children have been born, all living at this writing, namely: Bertha, Emma, Alfred, Emily, Ida, Edward, Lucy, Viola, Julius, Nellie, Elmer & Emil.
