Elsie G. Roark, 96, of Smithton died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994 at Four Seasons Living Center. She was born Nov. 28, 1897 in Tuscumbia to Joseph and Dora E. Doubikin McDonald. She was married to George Roark, who died in 1965.
Mrs. Roark was a member of the turner First Baptist Church and a charter member of the church's Golden Age Club. She lived in the Kansas City area most of her life before moving to Smithton seven years ago.
Surviving her are a daughter, Beulah M. Hancock of Smithton; two brothers, Walter McDonald of Palos Verdes Peninsula, Calif.; Ernest McDonald of Moro, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Jan 22 at Maple Hill Funeral Home and burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kan.
