Obituary:
Sudden Death. Last Friday morning about 3 o'clock a.m. Mr. G.R.C. Stowell fell dead from heart failure. He had gotten up to take some medicine and as he was about to retire fell over on the bed and expired without a word of warning. He lived a few miles south of this city, was quite old, and had been badly crippled while in the army, for which he was drawing a pension of $72 per month. We were not personally acquainted with the deceased, and have been furnished no further particulars, and can only say "Be ye also ready."

"The Lebo Enterprise", November 26, 1891, vol. l No. 27.

GRC Stowell was son of Eliphalet Phineas and Sybel (Rogers) Stowell--Sybel Rogers was daughter of Gershom Rogers who was direct descendant of Thomas Rogers and Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower Pilgrims 1620--See Lineage at Mayflower Society, Plymouth Massachusetts. His father, Eliphalet Stowell, may be a descendant of Henry Sampson of Mayflower 1620 Pilgrims. See also Willard S. Stowell, brother of G.R.C. Stowell, for his burial site in New York State. Also see his sister's gravesite in Evans Mills, NY cemetery, Drusilla Abigail Stowell Bishop.
