Mary Elizabeth Stowell Horton was a direct descendant of Thomas Rogers and Stephen Hopkins of the 1620 Mayflower Pilgrims. In fact, she has two lines to Thomas Rogers and one proven line to Stephen Hopkins. These Mayflower lines go thru her father G.R.C. Stowell who is also buried in same area in Lincoln Cemetery. These lines have been proven thru General Society of Mayflower Descendants in Plymouth, Mass. (The lines were proven by her great-great grandson, R.C.P. in 1991.) Mary E. Horton was married three times: l. Edmond 2. Brown 3. Horton.
