Obituary

Emily Amelia Stowell was born in Osborn, N.E. in 1840. She was married to Thomas Crusinbery Jan. 1, 1856. Her second marriage was to Hiram Monjar in 1869. He died in 1903 and in 1905 she was married to Joseph Brown who departed this life Feb. 25, 1919, She died at the home of her son Cary Crusinbery near Lebo, Thursday August 7 at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 20 days. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lydia Knight of La Sailles, Colo. and Mahala Ruby in Canada and her son, Cry, at Lebo. A sister and brother also survives her, Mrs. Horton in Oklahoma and Joe Stowell in western Kansas.

She had been a member if the Protestant Methodist church forty years.

The funeral occured (sic) at the M.E. church in Lebo Sunday afternoon, August 10, Rev. Page preaching the sermon. Interment was in Lincoln cemetery. The pall bearers were her grandsons, Cary Robinson and Frank and Elmer Crusinberry and her nephew Chest, Tracy and Floyd Horton.

Grandma Brown passed peacefully away. she had not been confined t her bed but had for some time been in failing health and strength. She laid down to take a rest and fell into a sleep from which she never awoke. In peace she passed from the worries and turmoils of life into the land where joy and happiness forever reign.

The family wish to express their thanks for all the kindness and sympathy shown them in this sad hour, and especially for the floral offerings.
