SHIRLEY T. RICHEY, 71, passed away November 30, 2008 in Houston, Texas.
Shirley was born in Oak Grove, Texas on March 14, 1937 to Everett and Vera Bailey Batchelor.
She was preceded in death by; her parents, Vera Ishman and Everett Batchelor, a step-mother, Amie Semple McCuller Batchelor, a brother, Jerry Beavers, her daughter, Charlotte Ann Griffin Wasson and granddaughter, Amanda Wasson.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Max Richey. Two daughters, Donna Devenney and Julie Burkhart ;one son, Gene Griffin; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charlie Richard Batchelor and his wife Janet, of Lamesa, Tx., Jimmy Batchelor and his wife Dolly, of Simms, Tx. and Roger Dale Batchelor and his wife Mary, of Midland, Tx.; three sisters, Amie Cleo Batchelor Brewer of Odessa, Tx., Oleta Jones, of Shawnee, Ok. and Margaret Hodgson, of Dekalb, Tx.; and numerous other relatives.
The family received friends on Thursday, December 04, 2008 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A funeral service, celebrating Shirley's life, was held on Friday, December 05, 2008 at 12:30 P.M. in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home with interment following in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
