Helen Agnes Gadbois, age 86, of OKC, passed away Dec. 14, 2008. She was born Jan. 16, 1922 in Otto, Iowa to Ernest Rose & Deneig Dickson. She spent her younger years in Iowa, graduating from Sioux City Academy of Cosmetology in June 1941. She married Daniel A. Gadbois of Jefferson, SD, in Elcajon, CA on Nov. 2, 1943. Dan served in WWII as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp.

Dan & Helen made their home in NE & IA until Dan's death Oct. 10, 1972. Helen then moved to OK to be near her children. She married St. Onge Joseph Gadbois of Howard, SD on Dec. 25, 1975. They moved to Howard, SD Helen worked in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home for 151/2 years. After she retired, she and her husband moved back to OK. St. Onge died Mar. 5, 1999. Shortly after his death, Helen was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, she fought the disease for more than 8 years. During this time, she lived at Grace Living Center, Brookwood. She loved her home there & cherished the 71/2 years of lasting friendships that she made there. She was surrounded by many of those friends & her family at the time of her passing.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Carroll McNeal of Edmond 3 sons, Daniel Gadbois of Meeker, James Gadbois of OKC & Jerome Gadbois of Tucson, AZ 12 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held Thurs., Dec. 18, 2008, at the John M. Ireland Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. The family suggests donations to plant a tree as a living memorial to Helen at Grace Living Center in lieu of flowers, send donations to Carroll McNeal, 16 N. Bridlewood Dr., Edmond, OK 73034. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home & Chapel, Moore.
