Ernest Rose, 73, 2935 S. Cypress Street, died Saturday in a Sioux City Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr Rose was born February 17, 1893, in Mokane, Missouri. He moved to Castana, Iowa at the age of 22, and married Deneig Dixon, September 16, 1916 at Onawa, Ioa. Mr. Rose Farmed near Castana, worked for the railroad life, was employed at Tobin Packing Company, at Esterville, Iowa and for 17 years by Armour & Co.
He was a member of the Trimble Methodist Church.
Survivors include the widow; a son, Herbert of Fort Dodge; two daughters, Mrs. Loren Barlow of Luverne, Minnesota; and Mrs. Daniel Gadbois of Cedar Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Claude Bagley, Mrs. Enos Loesch, and Mrs. Edward Fitzgerald, all of Mokane, and Mrs. Allen Vanderlisch of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.

Funeral services for Ernest Rose, 73, 2935 S. Cypress Street, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Methodist Chruch. The Rev. Milton H. Nothdurft will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside.
Pall bearers will be Lester Dixon, Theodore Dixon, Robert Dixon, William Dixon, Ralph Heisler, and Russell Spencer.
