Wilbur Lee Anthony married January 24, 1928 in Montross, Westmoreland County, Virginia, to Lula Lee Jenkins, born March 28, 1912.

Wilbur died February 24, 1960 at his residence in Hinnom, Westmoreland County, Virginia, at the age of 53, with a heart attack. He never remarried.
