John Andrew Brady, 58, long time resident and a former Idaho penitentiary guard, died Thursday afternoon at the home of his sister, Mrs. Lex Hobson, in Boise, following a long illness.

The body was taken to Mountain Home where Mr. Brady had lived most of his life.

Arrangements for funeral services await word from a son in the military service.

Son of the late J H Brady, Mountain Home pioneer, Mr. Brady was born Sept. 15, 1984 in Nevada and when a youth came with his parents and brothers and sisters to Idaho. In later years he moved to Boise. He married Miss Ennis Shirley of Boise.

He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons, Sgt. John Brady of Camp Davis, N.C. and Thomas Lawrence Brady of Mitchell, Ore; three daughters, Mrs. Shirley Lyons and Miss Burness Brady of Boise and Mrs. Bonnie Tuttle of Sonoma, Calif., and one grandson Gene Walters (correct spelling is Waters) of Boise.

He leaves also two brothers, Thomas E Brady and F Lawrence Brady, and two sisters, Mrs. B.H. Smith and Mrs. Lex Hobson, all of Boise.

NOTE:Although the headstone indicates John A Brady was born in 1883, his draft registration records (for which he personally would have provided information) indicate he was actually born in 1884. The Idaho Death indicates the same information.***
